Winter in the Southland: Sunny and warm this weekend

A really warm and sunny  MLK holiday weekend for the Southland. I love it!  The temperatures began to sizzle yesterday, when the high reached 81 in Burbank! In the middle of January — this is how we do winter in SoCal. By 1 p.m. this afternoon, once again, the temperature cracked the 80 degree mark in the Media City. More […]

A rainy, cold, and windy Wednesday

Another rainstorm rolling through Burbank and the rest of the Southland today. Rain will be falling off and on, sometimes heavy, this morning. Weather watchers are calling this a fast moving storm — saying we should begin to dry out by this afternoon.  However, a cold and very windy system is hitchhiking on this storm — and it will bring some […]

The Burbank Police Commission is under siege. The first target is the outspoken Jim Etter, but it appears to be part of a carefully crafted plan by City Hall insiders and their minions to divide and utimately muzzle the commission. The Semichorus blog has an interesting post about the Etter attack with some background on some of the players involved. A […]

Burbank heats up in December

Winter is less than two weeks away and yet the Media City is basking in warm, summer like temperatures.  Weather watchers are predicting the high could reach the mid-80s tomorrow — and December is supposed to be the coldest month of the year for Burbank. Go figure. I was out walking this evening in the hillside area and it truly […]
