Missing Special Olympics athlete found safe

A Special Olympics athlete missing from USC since last Saturday, turned up in Hayward — more than 350 miles north in the East Bay today. More cloudy and unstable weather in Burbank today. There’s a 40 percent chance of “showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 a.m,” according to the National Weather Service. The humidity remains high. This morning, before 9 a.m., I was out walking and it felt like I was in a sauna. High today in the low 80s in the Media City.
