New hotel in Burbank sold

The new SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Burbank has been sold for $60 million. R.D. Olson Development broke ground on the 102,075-square-foot hotel with a budget of $44 million at 549 South San Fernando Boulevard in January of 2014. It officially opened last Monday. Suspects in violent home invasion robbery due in court today

Two suspects are due to appear in court today in connection with a violent home invasion robbery and attack on an elderly Burbank resident. Twenty-seven year-old Lonnie Garcia was arrested in Pasadena last Wednesday, July 15, “for the home invasion robbery and attempt murder”  of 89 year-old Gerri Dickinson, according to a Burbank news release. A new hotel is set to open in Burbank tomorrow. The SpringHill Suites, managed by Marriott, has been under construction for more than a year.
