More cloudy and unstable weather in Burbank today. There’s a 40 percent chance of “showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 11 a.m,” according to the National Weather Service. The humidity remains high. This morning, before 9 a.m., I was out walking and it felt like I was in a sauna. High today in the low 80s in the Media City.

The new SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Burbank has been sold for $60 million. R.D. Olson Development broke ground on the 102,075-square-foot hotel with a budget of $44 million at 549 South San Fernando Boulevard in January of 2014. It officially opened last Monday. Suspects in violent home invasion robbery due in court today

Two suspects are due to appear in court today in connection with a violent home invasion robbery and attack on an elderly Burbank resident. New hotel set to open in Burbank tomorrow

A new hotel is set to open in Burbank tomorrow. The SpringHill Suites, managed by Marriott, has been under construction for more than a year. Yesterday, work crews were out putting the final touches on the 170 suite boutique-style hotel.
