Tabebuia trees have been in glorious bloom this month here in Burbank. My favorite is the one known as the Lavender Trumpet Tree. Bloom color varies from pale pink to purple and lavender. The fact that the tree blooms so beautifully in winter is a true delight.

Long time Burbank business, Sheridan Gardens, nursery, gift, and home decor shop, abruptly closed its doors just over a week ago on Friday, February 20. Burbank School Board candidate, Jesse “Tangk” Tangkhpanya, did not do well in yesterday’s Burbank primary. Tangk is a relative newcomer to Burbank with some impressive credentials. The Burbank landscape is dotted with political signs from the various candidates campaigning for the two seats on the city council and the three seats on the Burbank School Board. While most are the typical yard signs you see during the election season — some of the 2015 candidates have come up with some creative alternatives. Love the super-sized Sharon […]

The cloudy skies over Burbank came alive with lightning and thunder this afternoon around 2:40 p.m. Also, raindrops began to fall and are expected to continue off and on at least through this evening. There’s a storm system moving through Los Angeles County. The weather watchers say there will be periods of heavy downpours, isolated thunderstorms, and hail in some […]

The suspect involved in that stand-off with police in Burbank last Tuesday is being held on a $140,000 bail in the Los Angeles County jail. Brandon Degourville of Los Angeles was pulled over after authorities say a Burbank Police officer ran a check on the 2013 Honda he was driving and it came back as a stolen vehicle. The 28 year-old […]
