Heavy rain in Burbank and Southland

Stormy weather creating havoc in the Southland today. During the noon hour, Burbank got hammered by a batch of heavy rain. I was about to step outside, when sheets of rain thundered from the sky. The Burbank hillside area got dumped on by a fast moving rain cell around 9 :30 p.m. tonight. When it pounds the […]

ShowBiz Bits

Hot Hollywood Movie Deal I thought it was a bizarre combination when the novel came out last spring: President Abraham Lincoln and vampires. No matter. Hollywood is hot to take this property to the big screen. Several studios were bidding on the project, but over the weekend, 20th Century Fox came out the victor, according to Nikki Finke & Mike Fleming […]

“The Social Network” most popular at Box Office

The story of Internet social network juggernaut, Facebook, pulled in the most moviegoers at theaters this weekend. “The Social Network” debuted with an estimated $23 million to become the number one film in the country. The drama is loosely based on Ben Mezrich’s book, “The Accidental Billionaires”  (2009). The story centers on how Mark Zuckerberg, as a young Harvard University undergraduate, founded Facebook in […]
