National Freedom Day!  On February 1, 1865, President Abraham Lincoln signed a resolution outlawing slavery. Later, the resolution was ratified by the states in December of 1865 and became the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.  Let freedom ring.

Ground breaking for new Burbank hotel

Burbank is one step closer to getting a new hotel. Yesterday, a ceremonial ground breaking was held for the $40 million SpringHill Suites by Marriott on San Fernando Boulevard between Providencia and Santa Anita Streets adjacent to Downtown Burbank.
