MLK Day: Celebrate by serving others

Today President Obama honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by picking up a brush and helping paint artsy and inspiring characters in the cafeteria of Stuart Hobson Middle School in Washington, DC. Today is the 25th anniversary of the federal holiday honoring the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The first MLK Day was observed in 1986. Dr. King was fatally wounded by an assassin’s bullet on a balcony in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968.
